Info: Annual, particularly leafy, finely feathered culinary herb. Strongly fragrant with a fresh-spicy aroma. Grows up to 100 cm high and yields very well. Seeds and flowers are used for pickling cucumbers. The finely chopped leaves season vinegar, cucumber salad, dill sauces, and herb butter. Suitable for freezing and drying.
Care: Germination temperature not below 15°C. Sow in rows with 20 cm spacing, press down lightly, do not cover or cover thinly with soil (light germinator!) and keep moist. Thin out vigorous plants to a spacing of 5 - 10 cm. Loves sunny to semi-shady locations on all well-drained garden soils without waterlogging.
Tip: Harvest leaves at flowering, at which point the highest content of aroma-forming essential oils is reached.
Sowing: May - July outdoors
Germination: 10 - 30 days at 15 - 20°C, light germinator
Harvest: June - October
