Info: Tasty, very decorative leaf lettuce. Forms medium-sized, loose heads with heavily crinkled, light green leaves. For year-round cultivation in the open field. First harvest possible after 5 - 6 weeks. For fresh salads, also mixed with endive or radicchio, and for decoration.
Care: Sow 0.5 cm deep (diffuse light promotes germination), thinly distributed in rows 30 cm apart. Press down the seed, cover with soil and keep moist. Plant out or thin out at a distance of 25x30 cm. Prefers sunny to semi-shady locations and all good, humus-rich garden soils. Keep evenly moist.
Tip: Temperatures above 18°C can inhibit germination. Harvest whole heads or only the outer leaves, spare the heart, leaves grow back.
Sowing: From March indoors, April – August in the open field
Germination: 6 - 12 days at 10 - 16°C
Harvest: May – October, depending on the sowing date
