Info: Komatsuna is a leafy vegetable from the group similar to cabbage. A fast-growing leafy vegetable with a taste between cabbage and radish. The leaf is smooth and slightly hairy with white ribs. Survives frost down to -12°C.
Care: The soil should be well-moist but not wet. Prepare the seedbed thoroughly (weed-free and fine crumbly). Direct sowing with a planting distance of about 2.5 - 3 cm. Row spacing about 15 cm.
Use: Ideal for mixed salads and garnishing, as well as for stir-frying in a wok.
Gardener's Tip: The leaves give an intense, cabbage-like flavor and enrich any salad. The young leaves are cut about 2 cm above the ground. Harvest can be continuous. Humus-rich loam or sandy soil, moist soils preferred.
