Info: Annual herb. Coriander is one of the aromatic herbs that are widespread around the world and is also increasingly popular here. While the use of the shiny, round, and very aromatic seeds used to be the main focus, today, the tender, soft leaves are primarily sought after for seasoning Chinese, Arabic, Indian, Japanese, and Mexican dishes. "Cilantro" blooms later than common coriander, allowing for longer and more frequent harvesting of its mild-tasting leaves.

Care: Optimal germination temperature is 10 - 20°C. Germination period approximately 15 - 20 days. Sowing depth 1 - 2 cm. Sow thinly directly in rows. Coriander prefers semi-shady and moderately moist garden spots with good humus supply.

Uses: For seasoning dishes from Chinese, Arabic, Indian, Japanese, and Mexican cuisines.

Gardener's tip: Use the leaves sparingly as their taste, similar to curry, nutmeg, or ginger, may take some getting used to.

Sowing: Outdoors: April - June

Germination: 15 - 20 days at 10 - 20°C

Location: Semi-shady

Harvest: From June - August (leaves); From September - October (seeds)
