Info: Annual. Basil is a popular, very aromatic herb that is used in many ways. Leaves and flowers give off a pleasant fragrance. This variety stands out for its wine-red color and is therefore often used for decoration. The variety is evenly colored with flat, medium-sized leaves. It is ideal for all purposes on beds and balconies.
Care: Optimal germination temperature at least 15°C. Germination time approximately 10 - 15 days. Sensitive to frost. Do not cover seed with soil. A sunny, warm, sheltered location allows the heat-loving plants to thrive well. The soil should be rich in nutrients but well-drained as waterlogging is not well tolerated. Plants in pots can also thrive on a bright kitchen window.
Use: Basil, as we know it, is irresistible and delicious with mozzarella and tomatoes or as pesto, finely chopped with olive oil on spaghetti.
