Info: Interesting approximately 120 cm high, dark green hibiscus plants with beautiful flowers and elongated pointed, dark green fruits. Very tender flesh. Okra is very fond of warmth, likes high humidity. Does not have any special requirements for the soil.
Care: Sown in a warm place (greenhouse/windowsill). Sowing depth about 2 - 3 cm (dark germinator). The temperatures and humidity must be constant. When the young plants have 4 leaves, they are pricked out into pots (planted). At a height of 20 cm, the main shoot is pinched out so that the plant develops bushy. Plant out from mid-May, harden plants beforehand (get used to outside temperatures).
Use: Finely chopped okra with onions and spices refine any roast. Due to its interesting fruit shape, it is also ideal as an edible decoration for salads.
Gardener's tip: The seeds of okra are about pea-sized, requiring a lot of water for germination. Suitable for freezing and preserving. Okra tastes similar to green beans and is used in the kitchen in the same way.
