Info: This robust (low susceptibility to disease) and high-yielding (parthenocarpic = purely female flowering) hybrid field cucumber is suitable for outdoor and under-glass cultivation. The dark green fruits are about 20 - 25 cm long, tasty and free from bitter substances. Swing is not very susceptible to cucumber scab (Cladosporium c.) and powdery mildew (Sphaerotheca f.).
Care: From March onwards, sow in pots about 1 - 2 cm deep in a warm place (greenhouse/windowsill) (dark germinators), place them in a bright and warm location. Use seed compost! Plant young plants outdoors from mid-May (frost-free), harden off beforehand if possible. Outdoor/direct sowing from mid-May, place 1 - 2 seeds per planting site. Plant spacing about 30x100 cm. Keep sowing soil evenly moist. Pay attention to nutritious, humus-rich soil.
Use: This cucumber variety is well suited for salads. Applied externally, placed cucumber slices stimulate the skin metabolism and provide a rosy, smooth complexion. The cucumber juice has a refreshing effect on the skin and also helps with eczema.
Gardener's Tip: Cultivating on black, slit mulch film hastens and increases the yield.
Sowing: Preculture: From March - April; Outdoor sowing: Mid-May (frost-free) - Early June
Germination: 6 - 15 days at 20 - 25°C
Location: Sunny
Harvest: From June - September
