Info: Cosima is a new variety with comprehensive resistance to downy mildew (Bremia 1.1-26) and resistance to the blackcurrant aphid (Nasonovia ribisnigri). These resistances save the gardener from having to use sprays, enabling organic cultivation with healthy heads.
Care: The pre-cultivation takes place in a warm environment (greenhouse/window sill), sowing is done 0.5 - 1 cm deep. At the 2 - 3 leaf stage of the young plants, they are planted in pots or in the heated greenhouse on site. From mid-April, lettuce plants can be moved outdoors, gradually acclimating them to outdoor temperatures (hardening off). Keep evenly moist and warm. Never let them dry out, use seed compost! Plant spacing: approx. 30x30 cm.
Usage: The variety is fast-growing, keeps well, and is suitable for spring, summer, and autumn cultivation. The medium green shiny heads are compact, large, and well-filled.
Gardener's tip: Lettuce should be protected against pests (snails, birds) and climatic influences such as hail, etc. with garden fleece.
Sowing: Pre-cultivation: from February - March; Outdoors: mid-April - June
Germination: 5 - 10 days at 10 - 15°C
Location: Sunny - Partial shade, prefers loose and humus-rich soil
Harvest: May - September
